I speak English (Sestu) is an established, busy English Language School in the suburbs of Cagliari. We are currently recruiting a full-time English language teacher for academic year 2024/25 who can teach both young learners and adults.
Cagliari is the capital city of Sardinia where, in your free time, you can enjoy sightseeing in the charming historic centre, beautiful beaches, lovely weather, great food and a relaxing Mediterranean lifestyle. The island of Sardinia also offers wonderful natural beauty and great opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as hiking, cycling and water sports and much more besides.

We accomplish this by working to high quality standards, through attention to detail and with enthusiasm for the profession. We provide a warm, friendly atmosphere for our students which makes for an ideal environment to achieve important goals together. Our courses are complemented by a range of extra services such as conversation classes, grammar video lessons, catch-up lessons, email in English and multimedia resources in order to give students the most complete service possible, all of which is enhanced with the latest smartboard technology. Best practices for teachers are promoted by the school through an initial training and induction as well as ongoing professional development in the form of regular workshops, observations, meetings and appraisals.
We teach English to people of all ages, from pre-school to adults, and to all levels (A1-C2 Common European Framework). The school provides courses of General English, International Exam Preparation and ESP. In addition, we are also an accredited Pearson Test Centre (PTE centre no. 80018) as well as Cambridge Exam Preparation Centre so teachers can also gain valuable experience in this department as well.
Finally, we are now operating with both in-house and online lessons to cater to a wider range of needs and territories!

EU citizen OR ALREADY in possession of permesso di soggiorno or visa to work in Italy
Native level speaker
University graduate
CELTA/TEFL/TESOL teaching qualification
The ideal candidate will:
- already have experience working abroad (preferably Italy) and be comfortable relocating and living in Italy
- possess at least 2 full years of experience in an English language school teaching young learners and adults in groups and individually (preferably in Italy)
- have experience with Young learners and enjoy teaching Young Learners
- have excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly but professional approach to the role
- be enthusiastic, flexible, responsive hard-working and reliable
The successful teacher will, with the aid of a core text book, be able to plan and prepare interesting, engaging and above all, learner-centred, communicative lessons for students of all ages.

Salary and Benefits
The role foresees the permanent Italian contract (contratto a tempo indeterminato).
Remuneration and benefits
Fully comprehensive permanent contract with social security payments in Italy
23-25 teaching hours per week
Monthly remuneration package approximately 1500-1600 euros for 23-25 hours per week, PLUS TFR (severance pay, one extra month's pay per year of service).
Start: Monday 16th September.
Initial period: Mid-September to end June, extendable on mutual agreement into the summer and follwing school year
Paid holidays (ferie e permessi)
Approx 20 hours paid initial induction and training plus ongoing professional development
100 euro Outward flight allowance to Cagliari
Assistance with bureaucracy as well as settling in to Cagliari and finding accommodation
